Quality Assurance ensure that the specification and functionality of all of our products meet the expectations of our customers. During your career with us, you'll build up a core technical understanding of the following areas: 

Functional QA 

At any level of Quality Assurance, you'll get to know the ins and outs of: 

• Designing new and creative approaches towards complex testing requirements 
• Applying testing techniques across multiple domains. 
• How to validate and review user stories & defects – you'll understand the impact of user stories in the product and identify possible future problems with that implementation 
• Automatic test case reviews – you'll ensure that what was specified is implemented 
• Release process ownership, including: 
• Gold build validation 
• Release scope – build comparison 
• PROD validations after release (e.g. sanity tests, logs and metrics) Release reporting to all involved stakeholders 
• Pipeline ownership – if the pipeline is red (tests are failing), you'll understand why Best practices – be the driver of good Quality practices within your team/project 
• Design and specify test cases  (same as first bullet) 

Test Strategy Definition: 

As part of the QA team, you'll develop an understanding of:  

• Pipeline strategy (e.g. different tests steps/environments) 
• Driver of Quality good practices within the team/project 
• Your domain's PPB product suite, including the concepts, structure, and product interaction and communication 
• Various SDLC models & test management systems 
• Be responsible for, and be an expert in, complex testing and coverage techniques 

Domain expertise: 

• In this area, you'll work to become a domain expert with special knowledge of betting, PPB products and business rules. 
• Have a thorough understanding of the technical capabilities of frameworks and frameworks in use 

Automation Capability: 

• Across our QA teams, we expect our people to proactively look to build their understanding of test automation frameworks and strategies. 
• A recognised domain expert for several complex functional components on a given project/product 

Incident Management: 

Things often don't go quite as planned, so you'll be expected to: 

• Rapidly restore service operation by effectively making use of the various tools, making sure that the business impact is as small as possible 
• Take ownership of preventing recurring incidents – and when incidents can't be prevented, you'll always minimise the impact 
• Set up monitoring and alerting of applications to detect anomalies and enable us to react before an incident occur.
• Automate incident management processes for applications to recover themselves 
• Be able to explain the problem in a way that production operators, incident managers and stakeholders can understand 

Key Working Relationships:

SpecificationExperience & Qualifications Required for Mid QA 

• At least 2 years of relevant experience 
• Good commercial experience using Selenium 
• Understanding of micro-services 
• Knowledge of basic OO programming (e.g Java)  
• Experience of Agile software development practices 
• Clarity of thought and strong communication skills to effectively pitch solutions 
• Strong troubleshooting skills in different disparate technologies and environments 
• Good commercial experience working on successful automated testing projects 
• Background in functional testing with the ability to plan, design and execute test cases 
• Proven diagnostic and debugging skills 
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and prioritization skills 
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Proactive work ethic with the ability to deliver results and meet challenging deadlines
