Role Purpose:

Information Security Operation's mission is to protect Flutter International's players against global cyber risk, and is specifically accountable for delivering:

  • Security operational leadership across Flutter International
  • Security operational capabilities to enhance Flutter International's global cyber security posture and reduce its cyber risk.

The Department Head, Information Security Operations is accountable for proactively detecting and responding to new attacks, or attacks currently underway, and then working with other expert cyber security resolver teams to contain and remediate the impact as quickly as possible.  This is achieved through the use of advanced security monitoring techniques and advanced cyber systems/tools.

The main accountabilities of the role are to lead:

  •  Security monitoring – observation, triage, correlation, analysis/investigation and closure of real time complex security events created by the threat detection and vulnerability management technologies.
  • Security incident response – rapid response to security attacks following security best practice approach and framework.
  •  Security operational processes and procedures – develop, maintain and optimise security operational processes and procedures including playbooks.
  •  Relationship with other brands within the wider Flutter Entertainment Plc.
  • The Department Head, Information Security Operations will have full autonomy and operational accountability for leading the Security Operations Centre and managing performance against defined OKR.  And where required will be accountable for driving continuous improvement initiatives that fully optimise resource utilisation and intelligence led outcomes.  This role requires strong relationships with external agencies, partners and vendors.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Accountable for proactively discovering new attacks, or attacks currently underway through the use of advanced security monitoring techniques and advanced cyber systems/tools.
  • Complex Active Monitoring & Triage – Observation, triage, correlation analysis/investigation and closure of real time of information complex security events including false positive identification.
  • High-risk security monitoring and creating high value inputs into the cyber threat management process.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and gather requirements and deliver security monitoring and incident response solutions.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in Security Operations Centre in a global organisation
  • Deep knowledge of the development and deployment of advanced security monitoring techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of Security Incident Response process.
  • Deep knowledge of security threat and vulnerability management technologies best practice/continuous improvement (from both a technology and operational process perspective) that will improve overall detection and response capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Prior or current information security or advanced networking certifications including, but not limited to, GCIA, GCFA, CEH, CISSP, etc.
